Christopher Nolan is certainly a master of his craft. Thus far all of his movies have been able to gracefully blend excitement and brains to create some all around crowd pleasers. Inception is no exception!
Here Nolan takes some Matrix esque concepts and infuses them with ideas revolving around the sub conscious and dreams and cookes up something refreshingly original and exciting.
The special FX are top notch and most impressive when used in the dream manipulation sequences. We see everything from modified grafity to shifting architecture and slow motion dream explosions that unfold in a poetic chaos.
Cast wise we have great performances from everyone. Not a weak link in the bunch.
The plot is engaging so you have to pay attention to everything to fully comprehend what exactly is going on and why, but as long as you do so you shouldn’t have a million and one questions about the flick after. The movie wants to be intellectually engaging but its not looking to outsmart its audience.
Great original story, fantastic performances, and plenty of captivating action. This is cinema at its best. I highly recommend it.
