Food, Inc.

After watching King Corn, some of what I'm learning from Food, Inc. is a little repetitive. Still, this is another great film about food.

Again, it talks about and documents wacky corporate behavior, like how Tyson does not allow cameras to view any of their chicken farms. It also talks about how feeding corn to cows is the equivalent of poisoning them.

Well, I'm not finished watching it, so there is still more to learn. I really like these types of films because they remind me how glad I am that I try as hard as I can to buy food from small, local growers and producers, even if the price is a bit higher than the mass producers.

Ugh, I'm disappointed to view how corrupt the FDA is portrayed to be! The film claims that the FDA is managed by veterans of the industrial giants that it is supposed to regulating!!

It's quite disturbing that Kevin's Law has not budged since 2005.

The depiction of Smithfield's employment practices is despicable. And the irony of visiting the Smithfield Foods website is unbearable - their trademarked motto is "Good food. Responsibly."

Rock on Stonyfield Farm! I love your yogurt!

You have got to be kidding me. Clarence Thomas worked for Monsanto before becoming a Supreme Court Justice??? Aiyaya!
