Probably not a bad move on Disney’s part, but I can’t say I’m too excited about their new acquisition. Disney has plenty of talent and business prowess however their notoriety for family friendly entertainment has me a bit worried.
Marvel is a well established name with a huge and loyal fanbase. I think it would be in Disney’s best interest to keep their creative tampering to a minimum. Some of Marvel’s character and comics maybe not mesh too well with their clean image. The last thing we need is for Disney to come in rewrite The Punisher as a born again Christian who has renounced his vengeful ways. Obvious exaggeration but you get the picture.
So Disney if you want to start your own line of family friendly comics and slap the Marvel logo on it then thats all fine and good, just don’t touch the classics.
