Three Quick Reviews

The Orphanage

Whoa… this movie is beyond words good. I thought Guillermo del Toro couldn’t get any better after Pan’s Labyrinth, but I’ll have to say this one goes the extra mile. If you can handle it, watch it. Its heavy, seriously.

Careful

This one is odd. I was distracted while I watched it, but I’m not sure I would have picked up any more if I had given it my full attention. Filmed in 1992, it has a feel from another century.

Get Carter

I’m actually watching this one now, but I feel very familiar with it because I heavily listened to the soundtrack a few years ago, even sampled it for a few idea tracks. Michael Caine is a great actor, in my humble opinion, so with a killer soundtrack and a solid actor, how can you go wrong? Right off the bat, its plain to see the photography is also high quality.

Guillermo Del Torro didn't actually direct this surprisingly. It was Juan Antonio Bayona. Because of Del Torro's fame his name was plastered all over the film leading people to believe it was his work even though he only served as a producer.

Have you seen Get Carter? I think you'd like it.
