Alien vs Predator 2

Ok, well first of all I know that the original was complete garbage. Paul W.S. Anderson will never be forgiven for making that abomination. The man clearly had no respect for the source material and was just in it for the almighty dollar. This guy has a knack for taking great concepts and butchering them. Just look at Resident Evil.

Well anyway, now that I'm done venting. What I'm really here to talk about is the new AVP movie coming out next month. I'm doing my best to keep faith in this project because A, the trailer seems like its has a lot going for it, and B, I absolutely fell in the love with the idea of Aliens battling Predators ever since the AVP game on the SNES and the toys and comics they released in the mid 90s. The main reason I'm so excited for this project is the fact that they have dropped the PG13 rating from the original (thank you god) and are aiming for a hard R. I don't need all of my movies to be super violent but if you opt for a PG13 rating for a movie like this, it just totally kills the tone that previous movies have set for both franchises.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up for this movie, but I just can't help it. Please tell me these new filmmakers have learned from Anderson's mistakes. As long as you listen to the fans, and stay true to the movies, this should almost be impossible to screw up. Please don't break my heart again.
